Ampex introduced the world's first commercially successful videotape recorder in 1956. Due to its high price of US$50,000, the Ampex VRX-1000 could be afforded only by the television networks and the largest individual stations. It was in the 1980s and 1990s, when prerecorded videotapes were widely available for purchase and rental, and blank tapes were sold to make recordings.
So much of my childhood was made up of movies and tv shows from the Disney and horror/sci-fi genres and to this day I can't get enough. Here are a few of my favorites from my childhood.
